Meet Allison Gildner, MS, LPCC, PMH-C

Life can feel overwhelming;
I'm here to help.
I operate from the belief that all people require a sense of meaning in life and that everyone has purpose. Even when life doesn't seem happy, it can be fulfilling. Through therapy I strive to understand the unique qualities of each individual and identify ways to help clients meet their personal goals. I thrive on helping my clients achieve a renewed sense of contentment.
I might be the right fit for you if:
-
You have experienced a difficult, unsettling, or life-changing event; some people may call it "trauma"
-
You are grieving the loss of a loved one
-
You are pregnant or postpartum and struggling with the adjustment, you may even feel "crazy" or your partner notices that you haven't been yourself
-
You tend to feel overwhelmed, worried about the future, not good enough, or you feel that you cannot measure up to the standards of success
-
You are a teen feeling out-of-place, striving to figure out who you are, or worried about the upcoming transition to adulthood
-
You are a Christian and you desire to meet with a therapist who shares your Biblical worldview
I've been there, and I can help. I know what it's like to feel afraid of certain settings, to feel "not good enough," and to be overwhelmed by life. I'm also a mom and a survivor of postpartum depression and anxiety. I have a passion for using my personal and professional experience to help others.
I specialize in treating peripartum and postpartum mental health concerns. I have experience with anxiety-related disorders, grief, and trauma. I am a Certified EMDR provider through EMDRIA. I also offer the option of walking outdoors during therapy.
In addition to my work as a Psychotherapist, I am employed by America World Adoption Association as a Home Study Coordinator. I am passionate about adoption and I love helping families come together.
In my spare time I enjoy being with my husband and children, spending time outdoors, horseback riding, playing the sport of curling, or relaxing with a cup of coffee and a good book. My family and I are members at Lakewood Evangelical Free Church in Baxter, MN; we love being involved and serving with our church community.
