Therapy for Teens and Adults Struggling with Anxiety

Help and hope for a more peaceful life.

Every day feels like a struggle.

Struggling with anxiety can be an exhausting and constant battle. Every day feels like a tightrope walk. Simple tasks become daunting challenges, as worries and irrational thoughts consume the mind. It's like being trapped in a never-ending loop of "what ifs" and worst-case scenarios. The body reacts with a racing heart, shallow breathing, and a constant feeling of restlessness. Sleep becomes elusive, with a mind that refuses to quiet down. Social situations might be overwhelming, as the fear of judgment and criticism intensifies. It's a rollercoaster of emotions, from fear and apprehension to frustration and exhaustion. The world becomes a minefield, with triggers lurking around every corner. But despite the constant struggle, those with anxiety still strive for moments of peace and respite, clinging onto hope and working towards finding ways to manage and overcome their anxiety. Therapy can help you realize that hope.

Common questions about psychotherapy for anxiety or perfectionism.

  • I approach psychotherapy for anxiety with the understanding that our thoughts influence our feelings and behaviors. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help clients learn about this pattern in themselves, and work to alter it for more optimal results.

When perfectionism is part of the problem, I help clients identify that aspect of their personalities, challenge the unhelpful aspects, and embrace the positive.

  • You don’t have to know what the label for the problem is before you start therapy. My job is to assess and diagnose the problem. That you’re looking at this website suggests you already know that something is wrong - whether or not it’s anxiety, we’ll work together to correctly identify it and establish a solution.

  • In your first session I will complete a diagnostic assessment, which is a thorough clinical evaluation of your mental health symptoms or diagnoses. From there I will work with you to identify your individual goals, as well as therapeutic strategies for how I can help you achieve them.
